Route

Shanghai

The Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway begins at an interchange with S20 Outer Ring Expressway and Yan'an Elevated Road near Hongqiao International Airport. It runs as an elevated expressway to Jiamin Elevated Road. To the west of Jiamin Elevated Road, there is a toll booth and tolls begin.

The Shanghai portion of the expressway was originally designated A9.

Jiangsu

The expressway passes through a small portion of Jiangsu, intersecting with the G15W Changshu–Taizhou Expressway.

Zhejiang

The expressway passes through Huzhou.

Anhui

The expressway passes through Xuancheng, Wuhu, Tongling, and Anqing.

Hubei

The expressway passes through Huangmei County in Huanggang, Huangshi, Wuhan, Jingzhou, southern suburbs of Yichang, and Enshi.

The mountainous terrain of southwestern Hubei necessitated the construction of numerous bridges and tunnels in Changyang Tujia Autonomous County (Yichang Prefecture-level city) and Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Among the notable bridges in that area are the Longtanhe Bridge,[2] Tieluoping Bridge,[3] Siduhe Bridge, and Qingjiang Bridge.[4]

Chongqing

The expressway passes through Zhong County and Dianjiang County before ending in Jiangbei District.
